Welcome to Willow Creek Church! We're honored to welcome guests to church not only on Sunday mornings but also throughout the week.
The following is a list of popular questions that you might be asking, along with some hopefully helpful answers. If after reviewing them you need more information, just contact our Pastor of Families and Connections, Drew Taylor. He'll get back to you with the answers you need.
Q. What is worship like?
Sunday morning services include passionate music, scripture readings, confessions, prayers and relevant, Christ-centered preaching. They last around 75 minutes.
Sunday morning worship at Willow Creek is a time for us to gather as one family to bring praise to God and to build up the body of Christ. The songs are led by a modern worship band and include a mixture of new music and hymns. On occasion, soloists and choirs help to lead in song as well, but worship at Willow Creek is always a participative activity.
Q. What should I wear?
Willow Creek Church strives toward an atmosphere of warm, authentic community anchored in God's gracious love and acceptance.
As such, we care much more about you than your wardrobe or fashion sense. We have a wide diversity of dress among our members and friends. Some dress very casually. Others dress "business casual." Still, others wear their "Sunday best." Our pastors mix it up Sunday to Sunday, too. Dress as you feel comfortable. We're just honored to have you as our guest!
Q. Where should I enter?
Please park near our main entrance. We have guest parking available nearest the front doors. Once inside, you'll see our guest information desk to the right. Members of our guest services team will be waiting, delighted to welcome you!
Our guest services team will equip you to enjoy your time with us, guiding you toward things like:
Our worship services
Our comfortable "quiet room" for parents with young children
Our children's worship service and Pre-K classes (10:00am)
Children's Sunday School classes (age 3–5th Grade at 9:00am)
Switch AM, our Sunday youth gathering (Grades 6–12) at 9:00am
Whatever you might need to enjoy your time with us!
Q. What about my kids?
We want your children to experience and express the gospel of Jesus Christ through several Sunday morning gatherings specifically for them.
Nursery (ages: birth–2-year-olds)
We have a safe, fun nursery for children from birth through age 2 during all worship services and Sunday School. They are conveniently located next to our foyer. A thorough nursery check-in/check-out procedure helps ensure security. We also have a pager system to contact parents throughout the service and Sunday seminars if necessary.
Pre-K Classes (ages: 3–5-year-olds)
We offer classes for Pre-K children during all worship services and during our Sunday School hour (9:00am). NOTE: Sunday School meets from September - May each year).
Children's Worship (K–5th Grade)
Although children are always welcome to attend the duration of worship with their parents, we offer an optional children's worship service for children (K-5th grade) during our 10:00am worship service. Children are dismissed with our Director of Children's Ministries just before the sermon.
Children's Sunday School (K–5th Grade)
At 9:00am, our children meet for Sunday School in the Children's Ministry Building (September through May). Stop by our children's ministry check-in area to participate! Need help locating it? Stop by our Welcome Center in the main foyer. We'll walk you over!
SwitchAM (6th–12th Grades)
Middle and senior high school students are invited to a weekly gathering called SwitchAM at 9:00am (September through May). Stop by the Welcome Center for directions!
Q. Do you have a Sunday seminar just for those new to Willow Creek?
Yes! Discover Willow Creek is our guest-oriented Sunday morning gathering. Held in Pastor Kevin's study, Discover Willow Creek provides a warm, lively orientation for our guests.
Over five sessions, guests will meet ministry leaders, learn about the overall ministry of Willow Creek Church, and get equipped to connect with their new church family!
Session 1 – Our History and Identity
Session 2 – Our Values and Our Vision
Session 3 – Our Beliefs, Part I
Session 4 – Our Beliefs, Part II
Session 5 – Our Membership Vows and Next Steps
Q. Do I have to take all five sessions of Discover Willow Creek in order?
No. Start and finish when you can!
Q. Does Discover Willow Creek equip me for membership in the church?
Yes! Completing all five sessions of Discover Willow Creek equips guests to make a decision regarding church membership, but does not obligate them to join. For those led to join Willow Creek Church, we will schedule an interview with our elders.
Q. How do I get registered for Discover Willow Creek?
To maintain an atmosphere in which friendships and connections can truly develop, space for each session of Discover Willow Creek is limited. Please contact Pastor of Families and Connections, Drew Taylor, to get registered. We'll get you scheduled for a class right away—maybe even this Sunday!
No problem! If you still have questions for us, please contact Pastor of Families and Connections, Drew Taylor.
Thank you for being our guest! Again, we're excited to have you with us!
