Leadership Training Begins Wednesday, January 30, 2019
As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, Willow Creek Church is an elder-led congregation. Assisted by deacons in caring for the flock entrusted to their care, our elders also work closely with our women's ministry leadership.
Our desire is for all leaders at Willow Creek, whether holding an ordained office or not, to receive thorough and ongoing training in the Scriptures, biblical doctrine, church government, church history, and ministry practice. As one part of this commitment, we routinely offer a two-module leadership training course required of all prospective elder, deacon, and women's ministry leadership candidates. These two ten-week modules, held during Wednesdays at Willow, cover:
- The Old and New Testaments
- The Westminster Confession of Faith
- A Brief Overview of the Book of Church Order
- A Brief Overview of Church History
- Guided Discussion of Ministry Practices
This training will begin this Wednesday, January 30th, in my study (6:30-8:00PM). It is open to all, but - again - required of all who might serve one day as elders, deacons, or women's ministry leaders at Willow Creek Church.
Also, remember that we have 5 offerings for adults during Wednesdays at Willow, all encouraging and informative. If you're not called to a study of this type, please plan to join one of the others!
Hope to see you this Wednesday!
Grace and peace,
