"Sunday AND" - Connecting with God and One Another
Yesterday, we started a four-part sermon series entitled, Sunday AND. It’s purpose is pretty simple: to encourage a fuller enjoyment of our connections with God and one another.
Willow Creek is not a huge church, but it’s not a small church either. We have lots of members and friends. Get them all together on a Sunday morning and they make quite a crowd. But we don’t merely want to be a crowd. We’re a family of faith, and healthy families know one another, love one another, and serve one another. In a church of our size, this won’t just happen; we need to make it happen and we can - with God’s help.
So, this August, we’re going to spend some time strengthening our “Sunday AND” culture. We long for every member and friend of our family to be a regular part of Sunday worship, AND routinely experiencing the means of God’s grace together throughout the week.
The writer of Hebrews urges us toward this kind of intentionality and involvement:
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near (10:24-25).
This isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it! When we come together in the Word, prayer, fellowship, and service, we both experience and express God’s love in powerful ways. By God’s design, we’re better together than apart.
So, let me encourage you to join us on Sunday mornings in August, and to check out all of the exciting ways to connect at Willow Creek Church. We worship at 10AM. All are welcome here!
Much love in Jesus,
